New userid’s can be allocated from 3 points in CAWIS

  1. The CAWIS admin module

2. The WSDRS user admin module

3. The WSDRS external registration module

A CAWIS userid is always uppercased and data_compressed (alpha and numerics only)

The Character limit is 10 .

A new userid cannot be created, without providing an email address for the requestor. The system currently assigns the email of the person entering the new userid, if this field is left null.

Most users can do a password reset from the External website, provided that their email is up to date (Though, there are some issues with many domains seeing CAWIS emails as Spam)

However, a User having the same email assigned to more than 1 userid, will not be able to perform a self-password reset (Many SDR users have multiple accounts for a multitude of reasons) and would need to email the WSDRS manager directly for assistance - WSDRS@tc.gc.ca )

Example

Any external WSDRS account can be deleted by changing its password to "DELETE" (all uppercase), provided they have not yet submitted an SDR. Unwanted accounts are a point of contention with the SDR submitting company managers - some want to retain history of former users, most prefer them to be gone.

SDR management also wants to remove account in instances where the account request was denied.

TC associated accounts are never deleted from A01_user, though they can be removed from M79_SDR_submitter.

However, a TC userid not found on TC Directory is automatically deactivated overnight. (set to inactive on A01, password scrambled and role code set to NS)

Tables affected (A01, Y50, Y55, Y56, M79, Y90, A90, A92, M79, A103, TR87)

A full reckoning of all USER data is available in the report at

\\ncrfs345\AARD\AARD Public\CAWIS-REPORTS

USER-AMO-AOC-AME-OWNERS.xlsx , which needs to be updated at regular intervals.
