Launching the Fleet AAIR Report at the Beginning of a new AAIR cycle
During the first week of each January, the Publications Unit (AARDA) requests the “Consolidated Fleet Report” from the AAIR side menu
The Fleet report “Launch” button performs the following tasks
Creates email documents, 1 for each FLEET, containing a spreadsheet of the tombstone data for each aircraft within each fleet, with blank columns for the owner to fill in
It publishes these “unsent” emails to the inbox of TC.AAIR-RAINA.TC@TC.GC.CA , the Publications Unit’s generic help email
A Publications user forwards these emails manually to each client, after ensuring that the email addresses and spreadsheet contents are correct
It allocates an M01 record for each aircraft having a fleet number, with an ISSUE-date = Current-date (assuming that an M01 record for the current reporting year does not already exist) It is also possible that some of these aircraft already reported under previous ownership.
An ISSUE-date = current-date is written to the Y59_fleet table
Special note : the Launch function is NOT security protected to the Admin role code (AU) though it likely should be. Any CAWIS user with a role code of HU or above can “launch” this report in the mistaken belief that they will see an online list of all FLEETS and their associated aircraft. (This is already available at: FLEET AAIR AIRCRAFT SUMMARY ) While the emails generated do not go any further than the Publications unit, it does cause the unit frequent confusion (3 or 4 times per year) Also, there is no record kept of which user launched the report. This issue has been raised with AARDA management previously.

Annual Airworthiness Information Report (AAIR) – Consolidated Fleet Report
Please find attached Transport Canada’s (TC) standardized fleet report form. The fleet report form indicates what TC currently has on file. All reports now have an annual due date of March 30th; please notify the AAIR group in Ottawa if you have any concerns with this new date.
The attached form is bilingual; you can choose to complete it in English or French by clicking on the corresponding language tabs at the bottom of the page. Please review the pre-populated information in the left column for each aircraft. If there are any changes to be made, these can be made in the right hand column. Towards the bottom of the form, you must enter the hours flown last calendar year and total time flown since new. As per CAR 501, you are required to report information based on the previous calendar year (e.g. January 1st to December 31st 2020) and NOT as of the date you complete your report.
If you need to add an aircraft to your fleet, there are blank columns located at the end of the document. Enter all required information for these new aircraft. If there are not enough columns, please contact us and we will send you additional worksheets. If you no longer own an aircraft and it needs to be removed from your fleet report, there is a drop down box above the tail mark where you can indicate this.
PLEASE NOTE: You are not required to use the attached form, however if you decide to continue with your own version, your report must clearly indicate by highlighting or putting in bold the following information:
Hours flown last calendar year and total time since new (TSN);
Identify all changes to aircraft with respect to engine make, model, serial number; propeller make, model and serial number; aircraft max takeoff weight and empty weight;
Identify, as applicable, damage date, repair date, inspection date and if the aircraft is out of service;
Which aircraft must be removed from your fleet when comparing with last year’s report;
Which aircraft are new addition to your fleet when comparing with last year’s report.
Please send your completed fleet report by e-mail to tc.aair-raina.tc@tc.gc.ca. Enter any additional notes or comments in your reply email. This email will serve as the authorizing signature for your report. You can also print your report, sign anywhere on the last page and send it by mail to Transport Canada (AARDA), 159 Cleopatra Dr, Nepean, Ontario, K1A 0N5.
If you require assistance in completing your fleet report form, or if you have any questions/concerns, please contact our office in Ottawa at 1-888-663-3639 or by e-mail at tc.aair-raina.tc@tc.gc.ca.
