System Overview
The ACTS application was used by the Aircraft Certification Branch to manage agenda items and action items resulting from national and international meetings with the Regional Offices, the Foreign Authorities, and Aircraft Companies. Aircraft Certification staff, both in headquarters and in the regions, used the ACTS application to view and track their personal action items, which are derived from these meetings.
ACTS had an MS Access administrative component available to selected individuals in the Branch for entering data and producing reports; and which allowed meeting coordinators to check out selected information to bring to meetings offsite, then check back in to the network.
There was also a read-only Web component , accessible through the Transport Canada intranet allowing users to view meeting information and to submit (via email) new agenda items or updates to the appropriate meeting coordinators.
Meetings such as the Aircraft Certification Management Team, Federal Aviation Authority / Transport Canada Civil Aviation, Aircraft Certification Management Team / Maintenance & Manufacturing , South West Region (FAA), New York Aircraft Certification Office, Direction General De L'Aviation Civile (France) and the Avionics Workshop used the systems templates and functionality to organize and track their meetings.
