System Overview

CAIPS - Civil Aviation IT Time Tracking, was never released to Production. It was only used by CivAv in DEV.

The Information Management, Technology and Support Division (AARJC) of the International Aviation and Technical Programs Branch manages and monitors numerous national and local information systems. The group created a project tracking system to track project status, monitor and report on activities and resources, and communicate with one another on the status of the projects.

Technical specialists entered time spent on tasks with details on the activities. Management used this tool to quickly obtain status reports on activities, and over the years they were able to refine time estimates on projects based on previous work.
