In this instance, the client requested removal of ALL .DOC files from the MMEL website, as they now only publish PDF versions. The MDB file does not specify file types, only the file names without extensions, so deleting a file from the web folder is sufficient to remove web links.

All of the DOC files were backed up into the PBI 207338 and the CSSG server and removed from the MMEL website - with the exception of one document, No_Elec.doc

No_Elec.doc is a default document which directs the User to the country of Origin/TCH holder for any given product, when TCCA does not have the requested MMEL info

Currently (Oct-2022) No_Elec.doc is hard coded into the ASP to provide both a DOC link and a PDF link when the filename No_elec is provided into the MDB database for a given make/model entry.  The database does NOT specify file types (PDF/DOC)

And so it displays the DOC link regardless of No_Elec.doc not being present in the web folder.  For now its been left in the webfolder (https://wwwapps2.tc.gc.ca/saf-sec-sur/2/MEL-LEM/tcbbs/mmels/) as it is fairly static information.

All other MMEL DOCs have been removed - and the corresponding links to those docs, no longer appear on the site.

If we need to remove a PDF file from the web, the same procedure can be used.

SM-GS ticket C255102 was created to request removal of the outdated DOC files. ( The description on the main ticket page does not match what was ultimately requested (removal of all DOCs) as SMGS management would not allow it to be revised after the initial “2 document deletion” request had been approved.
