Description

Transport Canada Centres (TCC) are regional satellite offices for carrying out the mandate of the department in each of the region. They work directly with clients to deliver TC’s services such as air, marine, rail, TDG and other programs.

Process for EGIS integration

CSV File Transformation:

  1. Copy/paste TCC listing from TC website then save as an Excel spreadsheet.

  2. In FME, use the Google Geocoder transformer to geocode the address.

  3. Expose the returned Lat/Long value.

  4. Transform the Lat/Long to point.

  5. Output to KML, SHP or GDB as required.

  6. Import into EGIS

TC Smart Maps:

  1. Not all GIS applications can consume KML file directly due to its unique data structures such as networklinks, folders, models etc.

  2. Please contact Lawrence Chong, Digital Services Directorate for TC Smart Maps KML dataset and format translation
