Jon's Notes
Julie: we're building a platform and applications / use cases
Simon :
what are the business outcomes?
why is there a solution in place?
this didn't follow the "correct governance process"
what is relationship between TC EGIS and FGP?
TC EGIS is a combination of IAAS, PAAS, and SAAS
we're building a platform that will serve multiple applications
is this a project or a program?
if a project, what is the MVP?
at that time, does it become a program?
will each application developed on top of the platform be subject to EARB review?
data retention plan will be required at Gate 3
data extraction -> exit strategy
we're answering a number of architectural questions that are general TC cloud architecture questions, and not necessarily specific to the TC EGIS project
perhaps because there's not a template for TC cloud architecture already in place
RISK: EARB seems to be assuming the posture of a gatekeeper
EARB doesn't seem ready for a couple of items:
cloud -- geared towards on-premises applications and platforms
agile -- seem to prefer BDUF / waterfall
RISK: EARB seems to be developing a posture that might seek to control the tools that we use (e.g., Chef, Azure DevOps)
blue/green production environment
do we need blue/green for staging as well?
we might be dragging everyone else along
Julie can be an important advocate
