2018-10-23 - Scenario 2 - TCOMS

[In Progress]

GIS and/or Non-GIS Data Inputs?

Some of the TCOMS events data has the GIS information.

This system currently has 2 maps functions:

  1. Map to show when you enter a location;

  2. A simple COP to show the incident event list if it has GIS information;

Data Processing?

If EGIS can directly access the TCOMS Oracle database, then we can map the Incident events which have GIS information on our EGIS platform.
Or we need make a copy of these data in EGIS Geospatial database, then mask the protected information for security concerns etc.;

User Stories

  1. 136 Improve TCOMS place name search

  2. 134 Display TCOMS information in enterprise Arc GIS
    Description: As a TCOMS user

  3. 137 Examine Interoperability Standards
    Description: .. What I’m observing looking at TCOMS, notifications, reporting forms, ICS forms etc is two problems:... TCOMS still relies on a fair amount of free text data entry, which is harder to parse, query, analyze.

  4. 135 View a user-defined Common Operating Picture
    Description: 1) Occurrence overview that shows all occurrence reports (as TCOMS presently) plus map view along with multi-agency situation awareness feeds.

  5. 144 Configure a dashboard

  6. 147 Map of geographic response plans

  7. 146 Create a list of unique locations

  8. 141 Import and export data layers from/to ArcGIS

  9. 140 Publish occurrence data to other systems

  10. 138 Track and Manage Resources - Facilities & Equipment

  11. 145 Add maps with appropriate data layers to ICS forms

  12. 143 Plot an incident position on an electronic nautical chart

  13. 142 Information and data structures must be compatible with common format types

  14. 139 Harvest data from the Multi-Agency Situational Awareness System
