CMA and Intersections
Description
Census Metropolitan Area (CMA) and Intersection Point is the intersecting point of railway track with the CMA boundary.
These intersection points are significant because based on Rail Safety Act, Companies must restrict Key Trains to a maximum speed of 40 MPH within the core and secondary core of Census Metropolitan Areas.
Originator
Canada Open Data
Transport Canada
Use Cases
As a Railway Safety Officer, I want to know where the key intersections are so that speed restriction are enforced for public safety.
