Based on expressed interest, Bryen Begg and I are happy to hold this Q&A Session to answer any questions about Azure, DevOps and IaaS/PaaS Services.

 

No agenda, just open floor chat about Cloud!

  • Will CloudOps support PaaS

  • CloudOps will maintain a VNET, and some PaaS can work within a defined VNET

  • Some PaaS can’t, will need a discussion

  • “Protected B in IaaS has an Authority To Operate (ATO) in the cloud right now”

  • Not Azure SQL Yet

  • MISS application is PB in the cloud right now ~ Doug Caldwell

    • Walked through their own S&A for its ATO

    • Before April 2020!

  • TC is trying to be a TB guineau pig for a project which should give way better connectivity to the cloud

  • Cloud connectivity is a concern for all

    • If you’re users are the public they’ll be fine, but for the rest we need better

  • There is motivation to move everyone under one DevOps organization

    • Currently over 70 organizations!

  • Targeting TRANSPORT-CANADA organization

  • PRO: connectivity to CloudOps pipelines

    • How we get into prod

  • Backlogs and repos will migrate fine

    • Will probably loose some IDs along the way

    • Won’t be painless
