Agile Delivery Leader (IT-03 Team Leader SS)

Objective #1

Title : 

Product Management for Marine Safety and Security (MSS) and Marine / Aviation / Agile Centre of Excellence (MAACE)

Departmental Priorities: 

As an Agile Delivery Leader, you will tackle the delivery of the product development assigned to your team for the business growth of MAACE and MSS. You will also ensure that the existing products assigned to your team are functioning and documented.

Employee Performance Objectives:

As an Agile Delivery Leader, you will:

  • Protect the team from outside influences that disrupt and distract from Sprint goals

  • Resolve impediments and improve team and organization effectiveness

  • Mentor the organization, stakeholders, and team members to help them understand Scrum and develop an Agile mindset

  • Help the team align with Marine / Aviation / Agile Centre of Excellence (MAACE) coding, user research, design, technology, and Agile goals/standards

  • Create an Agile environment to meet your team’s needs for creating user-centred products and services

Key Performance Indicators:

  • Built a motivated and empowered team, focused on iteration, experimentation, and transparency of work 

  • Identified and worked with management to create and staff skilled and multi-disciplinary teams needed to meet any business and technical challenges

  • Coached team members and others, including non-technical audience, to facilitate continuous improvement and apply the most appropriate Agile tools and techniques for their environment

  • Facilitated a Service Design approach (Discovery, Alpha, Beta, Live) and the onboarding of the product owner for new product development on the MAACE product and development roadmap

As an Agile Delivery Leader, you contribute to your team’s learning, growth, and experimentation, while supporting MAACE and TC administrative and organizational functions and requirements.

As an Agile Delivery Leader, you will:

  • Be responsible for the development and retention of talent reporting to you

  • Follow all necessary administrative and approval processes (e.g. HR, LR, Procurement, Onboarding, Offboarding)

  • Collaborate with your team and other teams to break down silos and contribute to communication, collaboration, and overall effectiveness of all MAACE and TC teams

Key Performance Indicators:

  • Ensured that all leave for your team is transparent and communicated through the use of shared team calendars and LEX

  • Provided continuous feedback to your employees through regular bilateral meetings (i.e. bilats) and scheduled Public Service Performance Agreement meetings (e.g. setting objectives and expectations, mid-year discussion, and year-end performance evaluation)

Team Leader / Cloud Ambassador (IT-03 Team Leader SS)

Objective #1

Title :

Ambassador to TC Cloud Centre of Excellence (TC3oE) on behalf of MAACE.

Departmental Priorities:

As a Cloud Ambassador, you will support all teams at Marine, CivAv and OPP in their cloud journey.

Employee Performance Objectives:

You will be responsible to:

  • Advancing and keeping as priorities requests related to MAACE submitted to TC3oE 

  • Escalate higher difficulty issues to TC3oE and its vendors 

  • Create a model for Cloud Ambassadorship (CA) that could be  scalable to other modes, e.g., :

    • Identifying roles, responsibilities,  elevated privileges

  • Provide mentoring or coaching to other CAs 

  • Serve as a key Communication Bridge between MAACE and TC3oE 

    • Notify MAACE of difficulties or issues in TC3oE that could impact project health and timelines 

    • Notify MAACE of news and announcements from TC3oE 

    • Share MAACE’s concerns and priorities with TC3oE 

  • Look for opportunities to share cloud resources among MAACE (and other teams’) apps on an enterprise wide scale 

Key Performance Indicators:

  • Championing the CA role / activities in the MAACE team, including deliver regular (minimum bi-monthly) updates to MAACE users on relevant TC3oE / Cloud issues 

  • Identifying issues that impacts or could impact project priorities and enabling solutions to address  

  • Assisting with onboarding MAACE apps to the Cloud, e.g., 

    • Advise MAACE teams on requirements to obtain DEV, ACC and PROD environments 

    • Look for opportunities to share cloud resources among apps on an enterprise wide scale 

  • Create DEV, ACC and PROD Resource Groups and provide instructions for self-provisioning 

  • Maintaining updated documents including the Cloud Ambassador role on a Wiki so that these can be leveraged by others
