Viewing the details of the CAWIS EDM AAIR account

• To view the details for the CAWIS EDM AAIR account open a command prompt.

• Run the following command:

  • net user AAIR /domain. The information displayed includes the date of the next password expiration (Password expires).

Managing the Password

Overview

• The password currently expires every 90 days.

  • Note: if the new password expiry would fall during a holiday period, such as in between Christmas and New Years, a work-around is to change the password again a few days later.

• As discussed with IT:

  • the password cannot be optional because of the complexity of the application. It does something with a password key vault.

  • If the client or development teams require the password to never expire a request has to be submitted to IM/IT security.

• As of October 3, 2023:, Avro Arrows team lead all developers members of the current AVRO Arrows Maintenance team have been provided access to change the password similar to the image below:
  

  

Changing the password

Method 1 (This method will work remotely (have to be logged into the VPN/GCSRA or onsite)

1. Press the following keys together: ctrl-alt-delete.

2. Select Change a password.

3. Change TC\USERID to TC\AAIR.

4. Provide the old password (from PINS - CAWIS EDM Prod) and new passwords in the textboxes.

5. Update the password for CAWIS EDM Prod in PINS.

6. Add an entry to the DSD CIVAV calendar, for the date range starting 10 days before the new password will expire. Include a link to this document.

Method 2

This is an alternate method that you can use if Method 1 does not work AND you are on-site at a TC office. It will only work if you are onsite at a TC office. It does not work if you are connected via the VPN/GCSRA.

1. Sign out of your TC account.

2. At the main login screen, select other.

3. Login as AAIR using the current password (in Pins) for CAWIS EDM prod.
   

   

4. Once you see the desktop, press the following keys together : ctrl-alt-delete.

5. Select Change a password.

6. Follow steps 4 to 6 in Method 1.
