DSD-Marine Projects in DevOps

Quick overview of the DSD-Marine portfolio in the Transport-Canada DevOps organization.

Projects

There are currently eight business capabilities for DSD-Marine represented as the following projects in the Transport-Canada DevOps organization:

DSD-MARINE Support

This project is 1-to-1 mapping against the DSD-Marine portfolio of legacy applications. Each legacy application is represented as an Area within the DSD-Marine Support project.

The project will have a single product backlog containing all bugs related to legacy MSS applications on a single product backlog. The priority of the product backlog will be based on a first-come, first-served basis.

There may be instances where bugs from the new DSD-Marine products and services portfolio catalogue might be added to the DSD-Marine Support project in cases where the expertise of the DSD-Marine Support team is required to help due to required skillsets or capacity issues.

Legacy Application Support Process

  • Legacy application support will be handled primarily by a dedicated support team (DSD-MARINE Support Team); however, any DSD-Marine team member could be added to the DSD-MARINE Support Team as needed.

  • Bugs will be added to a single product backlog in the DSD-MARINE Support project. This backlog is tied to the DSD-Marine Support team.

  • Bugs can be imported into the product backlog from SM-GS or created directly by DSD-Marine or MSS product owners.

  • Bugs will need to be triaged and fixed on a first-come, first-served basis.

  • Bugs that are triaged as new feature requests should be converted to PBI’s and may require further steps to be added to the appropriate DSD-Marine product backlog.

  • Process for pulling tickets from SM-GS and updating SM-GS ticket status will need to be reviewed. Legacy support process is documented here: DSD-Marine : Support Process Overview.
