The topic of the meeting was to discuss about the user roles and permission on EGIS Portal.

Main points:

  • Users that have a desktop (ArcGIS Pro or ArcMap) license should have Publisher role by default

  • Publisher role will be able to share content to groups, organization, and everyone (anonymous access)

  • User role will be able to share content only with his groups

  • If User role need to share outside of the group the EGIS team will assist by sharing on behalf of user or reassigning content ownership to a Publisher role

  • For requests that require Administrative Privileges, such as publish web tools, the EGIS team will assist on the task.

    • A custom role may be created giving temporary permission to the user.

    • The task will be performed first on a secure environment (Sandbox, Development).

    • The EGIS will validate the task

    • The task will be performed on Production by the User along with EGIS team

  • Check which analysis consume credits and which user has access to it

  • Create the custom User Role on DEV without sharing to organization and share to everyone capabilities
