If you don’t have access to Erwin Data Modeler in Citrix, please submit a Access to a TC Application or Service request in Orion and fill it out as per image below.

Updates per the Data Management Team, November 2023:

1. It is not necessary to perform the CONNECT COMPARE steps outlined in the ERWIN Guide for older models such as CAWIS.

2. The Data Management Team has requested that when we add or update columns we add descriptions for new / existing fields when we update tables. With the model that is being update open in Erwin:

• Change to Logical View.

• Expand the Entities menu item in the Model Explorer
  
  

Expand the Attributes menu for the table(s) being updated:

• For every column in the table(s) (existing and new columns:

  • Right click the column and select “Properties”.
    
    

    In the Description tab, enter the description of the column. Then click “Close”.

• Save the updated model.

• Verify that the added/updated descriptions are propagated correctly for all of the updates:

  • Change back to Physical View.
    
    

  • Expand Tables in the Model Explorer:
    
    

     

  • Expand “Columns”
    
    

     

  • For each column in the table:

    • Right click the column name and select Properties

       

    • Verify that the description you entered, via the Logical view, appears correctly in the Column tab.

• If needed, make corrections via the Logical view and reverify them in the Physical view.
