How to fix "Value cannot be null" error when launching CLAIMS
Update to the issue. Helpdesk is one method HOWEVER, a much better method was done by Dom Bueti.
Use the info from this ticket https://dev.azure.com/transport-canada/DSD-MARINE%20Support/_workitems/edit/157815 Also, use this link to update the info for the user that gets the error above when launching TCMDG.
The code in this application is looking for the TCDIR values.. in this case phone number. First thing to do is verify the info in the database with the query below. Most likely telephone number is missing.
Then this awesome tool, http://tcd/directory-annuaire/p004-eng.aspx actually allows u to change your own info. The update wheel spins foever but it updates, then sends update confirmation page.
The user then is able to work in the TCMDG... i know!
If you get the error message:
Value cannot be null.
Parameter name: value
It is caused by a null value in the user’s Active Directory profile (this can be viewed by searching for the user in Outlook).
Two examples are as follows:
The solution is to contact Service Desk or Access Control and have them enter a dummy value in the null field, e.g. (999) 999-9999.
