System Overview
Transport Canada Network Computer Inventory (TCNCI) provides an automated and centralized solution in which the status of all Windows-x86 hardware and software systems is updated nationally on a daily basis. The system has a user base of around 200 persons who are located in the NCR and in the regions. Upon machine startup, workstations execute a script that is contained within a Group Policy, commonly applied to all workstations. This script instructs workstations to query themselves for hardware and software information. The information collected is then transferred to an Oracle 10G database Server.

L’ Inventaire des Ordinateurs du Réseau de Transports Canada (IORTC) fournit une solution automatisée et centralisée dans laquelle le statut de tous les systèmes du matériel Windows-x86 et logiciels est mis à jour quotidiennement. Le système a une base d'utilisateur d'environ 200 personnes qui sont situées à la RCN et dans les régions. Quand l’ordonnateur démarrage, les postes de travail exécutent un ficher qui est contenu dans une politique de groupe, généralement appliqué à tous les postes de travail. Ce ficher demande à des postes de travail pour se questionner pour l'information de matériel et de logiciel. L'information rassemblée est alors transférée à un serveur de base de données de l'oracle 11g. En tant qu'élément de la solution de IORTC, une interface basée sur le Web peut être employé pour produire des rapports qui aideront aux suivants ; • Vérification du niveau des correctifs de sécurité •• Vérification du déploiement de logiciel• Identification du logiciel non standard, y compris le logiciel qui peut représenter une menace à l'infrastructure • Contrats de licence des logiciels • Le cycle de vie du matériel L'application de Web d’IORTC est écrite avec http://asp.net 4.0 et se relie à une base de données de l'oracle 11g.
