How to Map a Drive

These instructions have been displayed in Service Desk messages

Please follow these steps to map your G drive

Windows 7:

  1. Click the Start button and select “Computer”.

  2. Click the “Tools” menu and select “Map Network Drive…”

  3. Change the “Drive:” letter to G:

  4. In the “Folder:” field enter the group drive location: (ex: \\TC4S0E\groups\ )

  5. Click the “Finish” button and if the folder location is correct a new window will open showing the contents of the folder.

  6. The G: drive in now displayed in the Computer window.

 

Windows 10:

  1. Press the “Windows Key + E” to bring up File Explorer.

  2. On the left, click “This PC”.

  3. At the top of the window, click “Computer”.

  4. Next click the “Map network drive” button.

  5. Change the “Drive:” letter to G:

  6. In the “Folder:” field enter the group drive location: (ex: \\TC4S0E\groups\ )

  7. Click the “Finish” button and if the folder location is correct a new window will open showing the contents of the folder.

  8. The G: drive in now displayed when you click “This PC” in the File Explorer window.
