EQU Inspection

Described below is how to complete a simple EQU inspection. Guidelines are created to support testing a single inspection for a single planned location.

 Instructions

  1. File > Open > Equipment Inspection Module > Equipment Inspection Annual Plan
    Pacific Region > “Run”

  2. Open a Planned Inspection Location Category (A or B)

  3. Drag “Status” column into grey bar

  4. Drag “Planned Inspection Location” into the categories below (just drop them in)

  5. Choose “Status: Incomplete: Has not yet been inspected”

  6. Double-click on an inspection to open it

  7. Take a screenshot (or note the Location ID) of the “Targets/Actuals” tab and the Location ID. Need the Location ID to find this data window again.

  8. Go to the “Custom Action” menu > “Add New Inspection for current planned location”

  9. Fill out “Add Equipment Inspection” pop-up screen
    For first QA test: Add B1 + another B module, and a add C1 (do not need to add another another C)

  10. Click “Save”

  11. Click in the data window (left) “Rule Checks”

  12. Fill out rule checks. Need to have one compliant “Yes” type B1 in the inspection. For type B, must choose Equipment - Freight Car.

  13. “Save and Add Record”

  14. Add a non-compliant “No” rule check/record for type B1

  15. Can add other inspection types from the dropdown menu (e.g. Type C)

  16. Custom Action > Send letter of non-compliance or concern

  17. Add Addressee

  18. Click search

  19. Choose any contact. Add it to the by double clicking on the contact

  20. Create letter

  21. Close letter by clicking on “x” in top right of Word document

  22. Mark as “Send: Mark Sent via methods other than Outlook Email

  23. To view the “Targets/Actuals” tab, use CTRL-F to open the “Global Record Find” pop-up window and enter the Location ID
