Description

The Safety and Security Group develops regulations and standards to support safety and security in air, marine, rail, and road transportation. We also implement programs — monitoring, testing, and inspection — to enforce the regulations and standards.

The corporate headquarters is in Ottawa. The Safety and Security offices in each of the five regions each reports to their respective Regional Directors General:

  • Pacific

  • Prairie and Northern

  • Ontario

  • Quebec

  • Atlantic

The organization consists of the following directorates:

  • Aircraft Services Directorate

  • Aviation Security Directorate

  • Civil Aviation Directorate

  • Marine Safety and Security Program

  • Rail Safety Directorate

  • Road Safety and Motor Vehicle Regulation Directorate

  • Emergency Preparedness Directorate

  • Strategies and Programs Integration Directorate

  • Surface and Intermodal Security Directorate

  • Transportation of Dangerous Goods Directorate
