System Overview

MultiTrans (MTS) is a comprehensive suite of Computer Assisted Translation (CAT) capabilities that utilizes previously created content of relevant past translations and approved terminology. It incorporates TextBase, TermBase and Translation Agent to reference previous human-generated translations; ensures consistent language via a glossary of your pre-approved, standardized terms; and enables users to perform search functions and translate a project respectively.

  • The Application is a COTS product provided by SDL. Our main SDL contacts are:

  • The application resides on Windows 2016 Server NCRWS576. It has 18 GB of RAM and a 100GB C: drive, a 230GB D: drive and a 5 GB E: drive (I’m not sure what this drive is for).

  • The application client is installed on the MultiTrans user’s computers; refer to RDIMS # 15982289 for a listing.

  • The application server was upgraded to MultiTrans PRISM 2019 in December 2019 via SM-GS change request C204145. This was to allow the upgrading of the Windows Server from 2008 R2 to Windows 2016.

  • The application client was also upgraded to PRISM 2019 via C204145 which subsequently allowed the upgrading of the MultiTrans client’s computers to Windows 10.

Database:

  • DBA is Andrée Lavallée

  • MultiTransPrism SQL Server was to be moved to NCRDB43\tcprod06. The DB compatibility level is set to SQL 2014 as 2017 is not supported by the vendor. SQL 2016 is however supported.
