System Overview
Sub-system of the national FTAE system that involves 165 Thin Client Devices deployed nationally in examination testing rooms at TCCs for enabling external clients to complete aviation examinations using a computer instead of paper.
CDE Internal – the interface to FTAE is real-time. If FTAE is down, the CDE Internal cannot function. The CDE internal is used for internal exams, but most of the examination information resides within the FTAE database and therefore, if FTAE is down, so is the CDE Internal.
