NACIS Logon – Important Release Notes Reminder
When logging on to a new version of the NACIS application, a client will now be greeted with a message that the Release Notes are available and how they can be accessed. The message displayed is as follows:
After selecting the OK command button for the message, the Release Notes are automatically displayed. To display the Release Notes at any time, select the Help__à__Release Notes menu items.
Contacting NACIS Support – NACIS Contacts Updated
The NACIS Contacts, which are viewed by selecting the Help__à__Contacting NACIS Support menu items, were out of date. This list of contacts is now up to date and will be updated as required in a more timely fashion.
NACIS – CITRIX Only
Version 5.1.0 of the NACIS application will be available in Citrix only. This version and all future versions of the NACIS application will be available in Citrix only. This will enable the NACIS Development Team to get NACIS updates out quicker to clients and eliminate LAN support from visiting many desktops for NACIS installations.
Microsoft Office 2007/RDIMS Issues - Fixed
When Microsoft Office 2007/RDIMS 5.2 were launched, and NACIS 5.0 went into Production in October 2010, there were some unforeseen problems at that time.
The unforeseen problems were:
MS Word documents were not closing correctly.
Macros in some Certificates required changes.
Clients could not save the contents of a NACIS list window in an MS Excel document when the application was running in Citrix.
All of these problems have been corrected.
Bug Fixes — All Clients
TC Person Detail – Selection Interface for TC Staff Directory
On the TC Person – Detail window, there was a problem when selecting a TC Person from the TC Staff Directory interface when no User ID was entered initially. The problem was that fields directly related to the User ID selected were not automatically populated. This problem has been corrected.

AOC Search – List Format – Key Personnel
There was a problem when selecting Key Personnel from the List Format dropdown on the OC – Search window. Key Personnel with the Legal Position Accountable Executive were not retrieved in the resulting OC – Key Personnel List window. This problem has been corrected.
AOC Operations Specifications – TEXT (1) resizing problem
There was a problem where the Text (1) field was not resizing vertically when a client was resizing the AOC Operations Specifications New/Detail window. Previously, when the window was resized vertically to a larger area, a client was able to view more information as the Text (1) field was automatically resized vertically. This problem has been corrected.
Approved Check Pilot (ACP) – Key Personnel
There was a problem when clients tried to add an ACP to a company, especially in the case if the ACP already existed at another company, either as a Key Personnel, Flight Dispatcher, or just an ACP. This problem has been corrected.

Flight Simulation Training Devices (FSTD) – New Module
A new module, Flight Simulation Training Devices (FSTD) will be released in this new version of NACIS. However, clients using the Production version of NACIS will not have access to the FSTD functionality. Only clients using the Production (Training) version of NACIS will have access to the FSTD functionality for testing purposes.
The FSTD Module will be used both by Transport Canada’s National Simulator Evaluation Program of the National Operations branch as well as the Flight Training division of the General Aviation branch to view and modify the information relating to an FSTD certificate. The module will also be used to generate and print the FSTD National and Regional certificates.
When the FSTD module is fully tested by clients, the FSTD module will be available in the NACIS application in Production at a later date. As the FSTD module is a major upgrade to the Simulator module, the Simulator module will be replaced within Production.
Approved Training Organizations (ATO) – New Module
A new module, Approved Training Organizations (ATO) will be released in this new version of NACIS. However, clients using the Production version of NACIS will not have access to the ATO functionality. Only clients using the Production (Training) version of NACIS will have access to the ATO functionality for testing purposes.
The ATO Module will be used by Transport Canada’s Flight Training division of the General Aviation branch to view and modify the information and authorities of the Approved Training Organization certificate (ATO-C) and the Approved Training Organization operator certificate (ATO-OC) documents as well as the key personnel and manuals required by regulation for the insurance of the Approved Training Organization. The module will also used to generate and print the ATO-C and ATO-OC certificate documents.
When the ATO module is fully tested by clients, the ATO module will be available in the NACIS application in Production at a later date.
