LICENSE NUMBERS and SDR SUBMITTER ORGANIZATION NAMES
Certificate Numbers, Approval Numbers , AME_number, AMO_number, AOC_number are all referred to as License Number on the M79_SDR_submitter table.
License numbers are synced against NAPA during the overnight job, so that Organization Legal names are kept current. (updating company names was a frequent request before this was automated)
At the moment (Aug 2021), CAWIS/WSDRS only acquires legal names from NAPA, not trade names (they need to be appended to legal name, in a future NAPA release) . This poses an issue for identification of numbered companies.
For now, there is an exception table in Z980_TERM_CONVERSION (where TERM_TYPE_Code = ‘SDRACCT’) listing the organizations that we DO NOT sync against NAPA so that we might preserve the trade names as a suffix on the organization name.
License numbers cannot be intermixed within a single organization
When AMO/AMO/AOC numbers are found to be Invalid we,
i) attempt to find an alternate valid Canadian Aviation document number for that organization
– or –
ii) move the accounts to Type-6 "other" and place "AME" ,”AMO” or "AOC" as a prefix to the existing license number
A license number can be changed for user, but it must be changed to the same value for all users under that organization
Generic license "numbers" are assigned to TCH orgs (mfg/tch) , CAA orgs (TC or CAA) and individuals (NONE) where no “real” number exists on a verifiable table
