CAWIS (PTS) PROJECT TRACKING SYSTEM MODULE
The Project Tracking System (PTS) is a project management and tracking tool that assists Continuing Airworthiness Section Managers, Inspectors, Assistants, and Engineers with their on-going project-related responsibilities and output.
Users of the Project Tracking System are also referred to as OPIs (Office of primary interest) and OTIs (office of tertiary interest) , and each one belongs to a section, which has a Manager and any given number of other CAWIS users. The system displays the User Name, Division, and Title of the logged on user, as well as their current CAWIS role (s) on login.
PTS access is restricted to Continuing Airworthiness (CAW) users, having a role code of AU.
PTS supports several types of projects. Projects are categorized by Type, and have a status (open/closed/cancelled), including a Percentage Completed value.
Each type of Project may have different output artifacts. Such outputs are generally MS Word documents and may be saved in RDIMS.
In some cases a project may not have an output, either because it was cancelled or simply because none is required. Some PTS output artifacts will feed information into other CAWIS modules such as AD, AMOC, TSB, etc.
