How to Map a CCARCS Aircraft to a CAST ICAO Aircraft

This page details how to map a CCARCS Aircraft Common Name, Make and Model, Aircraft Manufacturer to a CAST ICAO Aircraft Make Model Series Organization (for Air and Private Operator Certificates in NACIS as well as CCARCS Balloons, Gliders, etc.)

  1. Login to the NACIS application in the Citrix Workspace (alternatively it can be launched from the server at \\NCRFS11\PROJLIB\NACIS\RELEASES\RELEASE 6.2.0\NACISII\PROD\OBJECT\NACIS.EXE but would execute quicker if placed on the C: drive).

    Citrix Workspace

    NACIS Login
  2. From the main menu, select Company-->Registered Aircraft-->Search-->Current to open the Registered Aircraft – Search – Current window.

  3. Select OK command button (it takes about 5 minutes or so to run) before the Registered Aircraft – List – Current window opens.

  4. Select the CAST/ICAO Organization Common Name column to sort on that column only.

  5. Scroll the list to the top to row 1

  6. Right click anywhere within the blank row in the CAST/ICAO Organization Common Name to bring up the menu and select Add Filter: CAST/ICAO Organization Common Name-->CAST/ICAO Organization Common Name = blank. The number of items in the list should now be reduced significantly as all records will now have the CAST/ICAO Organization Common Name = blank. This signifies the unmapped records.

  7. Select the column header CCARCS Aircraft Common Name to sort. Then using the SHIFT and CTRL keys, select the CCARCS Aircraft Model Name column header followed by the CCARCS Aircraft Manufacturer column header to sort all three columns.

  8. In this example, the request is to map the CCARCS Aircraft Common Name: Beech, CCARCS Aircraft Model Name: B36TC and CCARCS Aircraft Manufacturer: Beech Aircraft Corporation

  9. At this point, we are finished with the NACIS application.

  10. The next step is to login to the CCARCS application.

  11. Select the menu items Aircraft-->CAST/ICAO Aircraft Mapping to open the Aircraft Mapping Search window.

  12. Enter Beech in the Common Name criteria field to open the Aircraft Mapping - List window for the Beech aircraft details. Scroll until the Beech B36TC row appears where all of the CAST/ICAO information is blank. Select that row.

  13. Select the Modify menu item to map the Beech B36TC Beech Aircraft Corporation record.

  14. In the CAST/ICAO Make Model Series section, scroll the list to see the row that is to be mapped. Pay special attention to the Manufacturer on ID Plate within the CCARCS group at the top of the window which in this case is BEECH AIRCRAFT CORPORATION.

  15. In this case, there are two records that have the Model 36 and the Series B36TC. However, the Organization Common Names are different; one name is Raytheon, and the other name is Beech. In this case, the Organization Common Name Beech closely matches the Manufacturer on ID Plate BEECH AIRCRAFT CORPORATION, and this row must be chosen. Double click the row to populate the window at the top and change the Mapping Status dropdown value from Pending Review to Active. Select the Save menu item at the top.

  16. Repeat the same instructions for the Piper row.

  17. It is necessary to tell clients to check back within 15 minutes or so to ensure that the information has been mapped as the Scheduled Jobs within the NAPA-NACIS database execute at specific times to refresh the necessary materialized views.

  18. The CCARCS application can then be exited.
