Airworthiness Directives - Quick Search
In this section, the CAWIS “internal” AD maintenance module for TC users, is examined ( available to all Continuing Airworthiness users when logged in onto either CAWIS-INT - or - CAWIS-EXT )
From the CAWIS main menu (on left) , select Airworthiness Directives
Fig 1 - CAWIS main menu
Fig 2 - the Quick Search menu
The menu Allows for search by Aircraft Tail mark (aka Registration Mark) ( acquires Aircraft model configurations from Y04, then matches by Mfg/model to applicable AD records on C10 )
Fig 3 - Registration Mark results (sample)
This page displays all applicable ADs for the tail mark entered, for matching Airframe, Engine and Propeller models associated to this aircraft.
Note: Equipment ADs are NOT mapped to specific aircraft. Equipment models carried aboard each aircraft are not recorded on the CAWIS 5008 file.
Fig 4 - AD number lookup
The menu also allows for search by AD_number -or- partial AD_number
Hidden Feature
This applies to TC published ADs only
Canadian Airworthiness Directives were formatted like this until the end of 1999
CF-YY-NN (example CF-99-01)
Beginning in 2000, the format was altered to
CF-YYYY-NN (Example CF-2000-01) to satisfy Y2k requirements
However, if a 20th century AD is revised and reissued, it gets re-formatted like so :
CF-YYYY-NNRN (example CF-1999-01R1)
So for Canadian ADs only,
A search for CF-99 - or - CF-1999 should return the same result (a list of all Canadian AD’s published in 1999)
Note : the concept of renumbering all 20th century ADs was discussed and rejected back in 1999, by CAW management
