DATA ELEMENT OR BUTTON | DESCRIPTION |
AD NUMBER | Airworthiness Directive Number Canadian Format : CF-YYYY-NN (CF-YY-NN for 20th century issued ADs, unless revised after 1999) All other numbers : Not entirely standardized. The AD number is provided by the issuing authority. All countries format their AD numbers differently. The USA and Brazil use the same format (YYYY-MM-NN) and can only be differentiated by country code

REVISION NUMBER | Default is Zero. Alternately there can be any number of revisions issued for any given AD. (The current maximum found is 9) |
YEAR | Year of issuance of the original AD. Does not appear on external website. |
COUNTRY | Issuing authority Country (TCH or State of Design) |
ENTRY DATE | Default is current date. The Technical Inspectors (TI) will occasionally back date an AD when “old” ADs are being entered for a “newly acquired product” on the Canadian register |
ISSUING AUTHORITY | These are found in the SIGS module, where SIG_TYPE = 'Airworthiness Authority” by country_code match |
LAST UPDATED (DATE) | Default is current date. |
UPDATED BY (USERID) | CAWIS user that entered the AD |
ADD (MODELS) | see fig 2 Click ADD, goes to a new screen where Mfg/models are selected to apply to this AD. Will allow any combination of Mfg/Models. Inspectors can allocate New manufacturers for Equipment types |
SERVICE BULLETINS OR REFERENCE | Service bulletins (SBs) are issued by the manufacturer against specific models, so not ALL SBs necessarily apply to EVERY model against as AD. Once models have been applied to the AD, the SB titles are entered as freeform text, the user clicks a checkbox beside the desired models and the SB note is applied to those models on the C10 table |
CANCELLED OR SUPERSEDED | Has this AD been cancelled or superseded ? All of the “doc available” flags are to be unchecked , removing links to any documents on the public website. A cancelled AD is to appear on the search page without links, with a subject indicating its current disposition.

AD SUBJECT (ENGLISH) | Freeform text - normally prefixed with “ATA Code”. Cancelled AD’s should state “Cancelled” and the AD country/number that superseded it. |

MAKE LIVE TO WEB | When data entry is completed, and the corresponding AD documents are on the web, this value is set to yes. For cancelled/superseded ADs, the flag is set to “No”, and the subject should be altered to reflect the status of this AD |

AD NUMBER | Ad number cannot be modified here. If necessary, Go to Ad number Quick search, enter the AD number, select the AD, click the “Revise AD number/country” button. This is used often when revising 20th century Canadian AD formats to the 21st century format during a revision
